Today was a very busy day. NLBI Volunteer Trainers Duncan Ojiambo, Ephraim Phiri and I visited the prison in Mukono. When the invitation was given, 48 inmates responded. It was a beautiful picture of Jesus giving hope to people who previously felt none. From there, we traveled to Jinja to go to church. I love that church. Along with Volunteer Trainers Dan and Robinah Muwuliza and Duncan's son Eliud, we had the chance to visit the Nile River in the afternoon!
This is the first graduating class from Uganda School of Evangelism and Vocational Skills. NewLife Behavior International provides support to this school; and upon graduation, these students are provided tools to begin their careers. With the tools and evangelism training, these young people will transform their communities! Watch out Uganda! This is one of four schools NLBI sponsors in Uganda.
Seven years ago, many people worshipped a god whom they believed lived in this tree. Lorengechora, in the Karamoja region, was a very violent place due to cattle raiding.
In 2017, Mama Rose invited Duncan Ojiambo to come and teach people about Jesus. Since that time, Duncan and his team have started two primary schools, in addition to the four Bible/vocational schools mentioned earlier, and have planted 20 churches, which have a combined membership of over 3,000.
God is certainly transforming these communities; and we are extremely thankful He is allowing NLBI's Donor Partners, Board, and staff to be a part of it.
